How to Apply

1. Re-uploading photograph and signature:
Log in through the link given on the 'Bihar Police' tab of https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in and upload a photograph and Hindi and English signatures of the prescribed quality, between 00:00 on 23.04.2026 and 24:00 on 29.04.2026.

Exam Pattern

1. Answer sheet:
The preliminary written examination uses an OMR-based answer sheet; a specimen copy of the printed instructions is provided on the Commission's website. Entries such as roll number, question booklet number, the handwritten paragraph and the signature must be made exactly as instructed, failing which candidature is cancelled and the answer sheet is not evaluated.

Admit Card Details

1. Availability:
On the 'Bihar Police' tab of https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in from 07.07.2026; candidates must download and print it.
2. Not sent by post:
The admit card will not be despatched by post.
3. Duplicate:
Candidates who cannot download it may appear in person on 17.07.2026 between 10:00 and 17:00 at the Commission's office, 5, Harding Road, Patna-800001, with a photocopy of the receipt of their application and a valid photo identity document, and obtain a duplicate e-admit card at their own expense.
4. Unclear photograph:
If the photograph on the admit card is unclear or missing, the candidate must bring two photographs identical to the one on the application form.
5. Retention:
The admit card must be kept safely after the examination, as the appointing authority or the Commission may demand it during the main written examination, the physical efficiency test, document verification and joining.
6. Centre list:
A roll-number-wise list of examination centres will be available on the 'Bihar Police' tab; candidates should confirm the downloaded admit card matches it.

Reservation Details

1. Women:
35 per cent horizontal reservation in every reservation category, on the 97 per cent of posts left after the 3 per cent reserved for women of the Backward Classes; admissible only to women who are original residents of Bihar. Women may also be appointed on merit over and above the 35 per cent
2. Grandchildren of freedom fighters:
2 per cent horizontal reservation - 09 posts - for the grandchildren of freedom fighters of Bihar whose pension is sanctioned by the central government
3. Economically Weaker Section:
Certificate must be based on income and assets of financial year 2024-2025
4. Third gender:
Kinnar, Kothi, Hijra and transgender persons receive the benefit of Backward Class reservation; 01 post is reserved for transgender candidates
5. Domicile:
The benefit of reservation is available only to original residents of Bihar; candidates in a reserved category of another state must apply as unreserved, failing which the application is rejected

The e-admit card and one valid photo identity document - voter identity card, Aadhaar card, driving licence, PAN card or passport.

Important Instructions

1. Not a merit list:
The notice states expressly that the published list of roll numbers selected for the mains written examination is not to be treated as a merit list

Under General Administration Department letter no. 12575 dated 09.07.2025, women's places left unfilled in the mains selection pool were not given to men
3. Terms of the advertisement:
Candidates must comply with all the terms and provisions of Advt. No. 04/2026 at every stage; the provisions and conditions of the mains written examination are those of the advertisement
4. Printing errors:
The Commission is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in the press
5. Warning about touts:
Candidates are warned to be careful of touts and to inform the police about such suspicious persons
