Selection Process
- 1. Stages:
- Preliminary examination → Main written examination → Interview (100 marks). Successful candidates in Prelims will be invited online for the Main examination.
Admit Card Details
- 1. Purpose of the form:
- To be used when the Preliminary Examination e‑admit card shows an unclear/invalid/disputed photo or signature image.
- 2. Attested photograph:
- Paste a recent photograph attested by a Gazetted Officer in the box provided on the form.
- 3. Candidate signatures:
- Provide signatures in both Hindi and English in the spaces given.
- 4. Undertaking & consequences:
- The candidate affirms that all application details, photo and signature are true; false/mismatched particulars may lead to cancellation and legal/penal action, and the candidate agrees to abide by BPSC rules/decisions.
- 5. Two attested colour photos:
- Carry two Gazetted Officer–attested colour photographs; paste one on the e‑admit card at the designated space and show the other to the centre officials as instructed.
- 6. Photo ID required:
- Carry an original photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Driving Licence etc.) for verification at the examination centre.
- 7. Verification before entry:
- Centre Superintendent/officials will verify the documents and photo/signature before permitting entry to the examination.

- Admit cards will not be sent by post.

- Some candidates’ admit cards were showing only one subject; this has been corrected by the Commission.

- Affected candidates must re‑download the e‑Admit Card so that both subjects are mentioned.
Reservation Details
- 1. Women reservation:
- 35% horizontal reservation for women within each category; women seats total 99 out of 300.
- 2. PwBD reservation:
- 4% horizontal reservation. PwBD seats distributed as: VI 3, DD 3, OH 3, MD 3 (total 12).
- 3. Dependents of Freedom Fighters:
- 2% horizontal reservation; total seats 06 (includes grandchildren – पौता/पोती/नाति/नातिन).
- 4. EWS:
- EWS reservation applicable as per Bihar Govt. rules; category code EWS = 07 (10% vertical reservation, certificate required).
- 5. Category codes (for online form):
- UR=01, SC=02, ST=03, EBC=04, BC=05, BC (Women)=06, EWS=07.
- 6. Domicile condition for reservation:
- Only Bihar domiciles are eligible for reservation benefits; women from other states will be treated in UR for reservation.
Document Requirements
- 1. Educational proofs:
- LL.B. degree certificate/mark-sheets.
- 2. Identity & photo:
- Recent photograph and signature; Aadhaar or other ID as required on the portal.
- 3. Caste/reservation certificates:
- SC/ST/EBC/BC/BC–Women caste certificate; EWS Income & Asset certificate; Bihar domicile/residence certificate for reservation claims.

- Disability certificate in prescribed Form/format; scribe-related certificates if applicable.
- 5. Freedom fighter quota:
- Certificates prescribed for dependents (including grandchildren) of freedom fighters as per cited circulars.

- No Objection Certificate for government employees, if applicable.
- 7. Declaration form (Ghoshna Patra):
- Form with a Gazetted Officer–attested photograph and candidate signatures in Hindi and English, to be used where the e‑admit card photo/signature is unclear/invalid.

- Two recent colour photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer to be carried to the centre (one to be pasted on the e‑admit card).
Important Instructions
- 1. Online mode only:
- Applications must be submitted online through https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in; forms sent by post/hand will not be accepted.
- 2. OTR & Digilocker:
- One Time Registration and profile creation (with Digilocker linkage as instructed) are mandatory before applying.
- 3. Profile lock:
- Verify and lock profile before applying; after locking and submitting, no change in details will be allowed.
- 4. Certificates timing:
- All reservation certificates must be valid as per the dates and formats specified in the notice; invalid/late certificates will not be accepted.
- 5. Fee & charges:
- Bank/portal charges are extra; candidates who do not provide Aadhaar may need to pay an additional Biometric fee of Rs. 200.
- 6. BPSC website updates:

- 7. Declaration form usage:
- If the e‑admit card photo/signature is unclear/invalid, paste a Gazetted Officer–attested photo on the declaration form and sign in Hindi and English; false or mismatched particulars can result in cancellation and legal/penal action.
- 8. Compliance:
- The candidate undertakes to follow all rules/decisions of the Commission.
- 9. Important notice (exam conduct):
- BPSC conducts examinations in a fair and transparent manner; any claim to ensure success or appointment is false and misleading.
- 10. Beware of touts:
- Candidates and guardians must stay alert against touts or persons offering jobs or promising success in the exam.

- 12. Report illegal activities:

- Preliminary Examination will be held on 15.07.2026 (Wednesday) in two shifts: 10:00 AM–12:00 Noon and 02:30 PM–04:30 PM.

- Log in to https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in with registered Username and Password and click the Dashboard “GRIEVANCE” button to submit.
- 15. Who can file:
- Only the concerned candidate of the Prosecution Officer Preliminary Examination (Advt. 13/2026) may lodge a complaint; no other person can file on their behalf.
- 16. Time limit to lodge complaint:
- A complaint may be filed during the exam or within 48 hours after the examination is over.
- 17. Affidavit requirement:
- Uploading an Affidavit (sworn statement) with the complaint is compulsory; complaints without an affidavit will not be considered.
- 18. Facts/evidence to include:
- Clearly mention the facts of the irregularity, time of incident and related details (e.g., names of concerned staff if known) and attach supporting evidence/proofs; vague complaints without evidence/affidavit will not be entertained.
- 19. Scrutiny & timeline:
- Complaints will be examined by the District Magistrate/concerned officers and a report will be submitted to the Commission within 72 hours using evidence such as CCTV footage and statements of centre staff.
- 20. Action on false/fabricated complaints:
- Manufactured/fabricated, baseless or abusive complaints will invite action as per rules.
- 21. Centre verification for entry:
- For candidates covered by the Important Notice, entry will be allowed only after the Centre Superintendent verifies the declaration, photographs and ID.

- e‑Admit Card download begins on 09.07.2026 from the BPSC online portal.
- 11. How to download:
- Login at https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in/candidate/login with Username and Password; open My Account and use View/Download to get the Admit Card and print it.
- 12. Barcode & Roll No.:
- Ensure the e‑Admit Card bears the Roll Number with a Bar Code printed on it.
- 13. Centre details on Dashboard:
- Exam centre code/name will be visible on the Dashboard from 12.07.2026.
- 14. Reporting & entry window:
- Reach the centre 2 hours before the exam; entry will be allowed only up to 1 hour before the start.
- 15. Subject display correction:
- Some candidates’ admit cards were showing only one subject; this has been corrected by the Commission.
- 16. Re‑download instruction (subjects):
- Affected candidates must re‑download the e‑Admit Card so that both subjects are mentioned.
Reservation Details
- 1. Women reservation:
- 35% horizontal reservation for women within each category; women seats total 99 out of 300.
- 2. PwBD reservation:
- 4% horizontal reservation. PwBD seats distributed as: VI 3, DD 3, OH 3, MD 3 (total 12).
- 3. Dependents of Freedom Fighters:
- 2% horizontal reservation; total seats 06 (includes grandchildren – पौता/पोती/नाति/नातिन).
- 4. EWS:
- EWS reservation applicable as per Bihar Govt. rules; category code EWS = 07 (10% vertical reservation, certificate required).
- 5. Category codes (for online form):
- UR=01, SC=02, ST=03, EBC=04, BC=05, BC (Women)=06, EWS=07.
- 6. Domicile condition for reservation:
- Only Bihar domiciles are eligible for reservation benefits; women from other states will be treated in UR for reservation.
Document Requirements
- 1. Educational proofs:
- LL.B. degree certificate/mark-sheets.
- 2. Identity & photo:
- Recent photograph and signature; Aadhaar or other ID as required on the portal.
- 3. Caste/reservation certificates:
- SC/ST/EBC/BC/BC–Women caste certificate; EWS Income & Asset certificate; Bihar domicile/residence certificate for reservation claims.
- 4. PwBD:
- Disability certificate in prescribed Form/format; scribe-related certificates if applicable.
- 5. Freedom fighter quota:
- Certificates prescribed for dependents (including grandchildren) of freedom fighters as per cited circulars.
- 6. Service/Employment:
- No Objection Certificate for government employees, if applicable.
- 7. Declaration form (Ghoshna Patra):
- Form with a Gazetted Officer–attested photograph and candidate signatures in Hindi and English, to be used where the e‑admit card photo/signature is unclear/invalid.
- 8. Attested photographs:
- Two recent colour photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer to be carried to the centre (one to be pasted on the e‑admit card).
Important Instructions
- 1. Online mode only:
- Applications must be submitted online through https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in; forms sent by post/hand will not be accepted.
- 2. OTR & Digilocker:
- One Time Registration and profile creation (with Digilocker linkage as instructed) are mandatory before applying.
- 3. Profile lock:
- Verify and lock profile before applying; after locking and submitting, no change in details will be allowed.
- 4. Certificates timing:
- All reservation certificates must be valid as per the dates and formats specified in the notice; invalid/late certificates will not be accepted.
- 5. Fee & charges:
- Bank/portal charges are extra; candidates who do not provide Aadhaar may need to pay an additional Biometric fee of Rs. 200.
- 6. BPSC website updates:
- Further instructions/updates will be published on www.bpsc.bihar.gov.in only.
- 7. Declaration form usage:
- If the e‑admit card photo/signature is unclear/invalid, paste a Gazetted Officer–attested photo on the declaration form and sign in Hindi and English; false or mismatched particulars can result in cancellation and legal/penal action.
- 8. Compliance:
- The candidate undertakes to follow all rules/decisions of the Commission.
- 9. Important notice (exam conduct):
- BPSC conducts examinations in a fair and transparent manner; any claim to ensure success or appointment is false and misleading.
- 10. Beware of touts:
- Candidates and guardians must stay alert against touts or persons offering jobs or promising success in the exam.
- 11. Official sources only:
- Trust only the Commission’s official website and authorised channels for information.
- 12. Report illegal activities:
- Report such activities immediately to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Cyber Cell, the concerned police station/district police, and BPSC; strict legal action will be taken.
- 13. Prelims schedule (reiterated):
- Preliminary Examination will be held on 15.07.2026 (Wednesday) in two shifts: 10:00 AM–12:00 Noon and 02:30 PM–04:30 PM.
- 14. Where to file exam grievance (Advt. 13/2026):
- Log in to https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in with registered Username and Password and click the Dashboard “GRIEVANCE” button to submit.
- 15. Who can file:
- Only the concerned candidate of the Prosecution Officer Preliminary Examination (Advt. 13/2026) may lodge a complaint; no other person can file on their behalf.
- 16. Time limit to lodge complaint:
- A complaint may be filed during the exam or within 48 hours after the examination is over.
- 17. Affidavit requirement:
- Uploading an Affidavit (sworn statement) with the complaint is compulsory; complaints without an affidavit will not be considered.
- 18. Facts/evidence to include:
- Clearly mention the facts of the irregularity, time of incident and related details (e.g., names of concerned staff if known) and attach supporting evidence/proofs; vague complaints without evidence/affidavit will not be entertained.
- 19. Scrutiny & timeline:
- Complaints will be examined by the District Magistrate/concerned officers and a report will be submitted to the Commission within 72 hours using evidence such as CCTV footage and statements of centre staff.
- 20. Action on false/fabricated complaints:
- Manufactured/fabricated, baseless or abusive complaints will invite action as per rules.
- 21. Centre verification for entry:
- For candidates covered by the Important Notice, entry will be allowed only after the Centre Superintendent verifies the declaration, photographs and ID.
- 22. Exam districts (Prelims):
- Centres are in Patna, Bhojpur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Nalanda districts.
- 23. Reporting time (Prelims):
- Reach the exam centre 2 hours before the start of the exam; late entry after the prescribed time will not be allowed.
- 24. OMR option ‘E’ & negative marking:
- Five options (A–E); ‘E’ = Not Attempted and must be selected to skip; if no option is marked, 1/3 mark will be deducted as negative.
- 25. Carry extra e‑Admit Card:
- Carry an additional copy of the E‑Admit Card to the examination.
- 26. Unfair means warning:
- Irregularities will invite action under the 2024 prevention of unfair means law.
- 27. Provisional answer keys on website:
- For GS (Paper-I) and Law (Paper-II), provisional answers are displayed from 12.08.2026 on the Commission’s website.
- 28. How to submit objections (Answer Key):
- Login to the Candidate Dashboard with Username and Password and upload question-wise objections strictly as per the question booklet, along with documentary proof/evidence.
- 29. Objection fee (Answer Key):
- Rs 250 per question is payable.
- 30. Answer Key objection window:
- Objections can be filed online from 14.08.2026 to 18.08.2026 only; submissions after the last date or by any other mode will not be entertained.
