1. Bihar-domiciled male candidates of the Extremely Backward Class, Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section and Unreserved categories, and all candidates from outside Bihar of any category and of any gender:

Other Information

1. No refund:
The fee is not refunded once payment succeeds. If the amount is deducted but registration fails because of a power, internet or bank link failure, the payment gateway returns it within 07 working days

How to Apply

1. Mode:
Online only. Candidates go to https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in, open the Forest Dept. tab and click the link for Advt. No. 02/2025
2. Two parts:
The online form is filled in two parts. Part one is registration, capturing name, nationality, mobile number, e-mail id, Bihar domicile, reservation category, gender and date of birth, followed by payment. A registration number and password are sent by SMS and e-mail. Part two, filled after logging in, captures father's or husband's name, mother's name, address and educational qualification, and the declaration
3. Photograph and signature:
A colour photograph taken within the last two months on a white background, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format, and separate signatures in English and in Hindi in black and blue ink, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format on a white background, must be scanned and uploaded
4. Editing:
Details may be edited before payment and, after uploading the photograph and signature, through the Edit Details button before final submission. Nothing can be edited after confirming and submitting
5. Acknowledgement:
A confirmation SMS or e-mail is received on submission; only then is the application complete. The candidate must print the acknowledgement on A4 paper and keep it for future correspondence
6. Cancellation:
A wrongly filled registration or submitted application can be cancelled through the Cancel provision, but the fee already paid is not returned and must be paid again for a fresh application
7. Nothing to be posted:
The filled online application need not be sent to the Commission, but the registration number is required for future correspondence and a copy of the acknowledgement must be attached to any correspondence with the Commission
8. One application per mobile number:
Only one application can be filled from one mobile number, and the candidate must have the mobile phone in hand while filling the form because the registration id and password are sent by SMS

Exam Pattern

1. Written examination:
Objective (OMR) test of 100 marks; may be held in multiple shifts with Equi-Percentile normalization; qualifying in nature only.
2. Qualifying marks (written):
UR 40%; EBC 36.5%; SC/ST and all women 34%; Third Gender 32%.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — running:
Men: 1 mile (1.6 km) within 7 minutes; Women: 1 km within 7 minutes (qualifying).
4. PET — other events:
Events include long/high jump and shot put with notified minimum standards (e.g., men: long jump minimum 10 ft and shot put 16 lb minimum 14 ft; women: high/long jump and 12 lb shot put minimum 8 ft) — qualifying only.
5. Driving proficiency test:
Motor vehicle driving test with prescribed track tasks and evaluations; marks obtained form the basis of merit. Example weightage: up to 95 marks from driving test are converted to 75% towards final merit; certain notified contract-engaged drivers may receive up to 25 additional marks.
6. Admit card:
Admit cards for stages will be available on the CSBC website; no postal dispatch.

Syllabus Details

1. Level:
Matric (10th) level.
2. Subjects:
General Knowledge and Current Affairs; Hindi; English; Mathematics; General Science; Social Science (History, Geography, Civics); and basic reasoning/mental ability as per notification.

Selection Process

Admit Card Details

The admit card for the physical efficiency test is available from 02.12.2025 on the Forest Dept. tab of https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in; candidates should download it and take a printout

3. Duplicate:
A candidate who for any reason cannot download the admit card may obtain a duplicate on 15.12.2025 between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM by appearing in person at the Commission's office at 5 Hardinge Road, Patna - 800001, at their own cost, carrying a photocopy of the application acknowledgement and a valid photo identity card

Reservation Details

1. Governing Act:
Reservation applies under the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1991 (Bihar Act 3 of 1992), as amended from time to time
2. Women:
Keeping intact the 3 per cent reservation for women of backward classes, 35 per cent of the remaining 97 per cent of reserved and unreserved posts are reserved for women separately in each reservation category. This is horizontal reservation. If enough qualified women are not available the remaining vacancies are filled by qualified men of the same category; women may also be appointed on merit over and above the 35 per cent under section 4(3) of Bihar Act 3 of 1992
3. Economically Weaker Section:
The Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2019 applies; the certificate must be based on income and assets of financial year 2024-2025
4. Third gender:
Kinnar, Kothi, Hijra and transgender persons are separately included at serial 47 of the backward classes list (Schedule 2) of the 1991 Act and receive the reservation benefit available to backward classes in state services, under General Administration Department resolution No. 12722 dated 12 September 2014
5. Domicile:
Reservation benefit is available only to permanent residents of Bihar

Selected candidates must produce the relevant original certificates and records in person at the department at the time of joining

A valid photo identity card such as a voter identity card, driving licence or Aadhaar card
3. (ii) Educational qualification:
Certificate of passing the graduate or equivalent examination
4. (iii) Date of birth:
Date of birth certificate (original matriculation certificate)
5. (iv) Caste certificate:
Caste certificate issued by the competent authority for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Extremely Backward Class and Backward Class candidates. For women candidates, married or unmarried, it is valid only if issued on the basis of the father
6. (v) Non-creamy-layer certificate:
Certificate of not falling in the creamy layer for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates. For women candidates, married or unmarried, it is valid only if issued on the basis of the father
7. (vi) Domicile:
Certificate of permanent residence of the State of Bihar, for candidates of all reserved categories
8. (vii) Economically Weaker Section:
Certificate based on income of financial year 2024-25 in the form prescribed by General Administration Department notification No. 2622 dated 26 February 2019 (Gazette No. 284), if applicable
9. (viii) Bihar government servants:
Certificate of being a government servant of the Government of Bihar, if applicable
10. (ix) Ex-servicemen:
PPO and discharge book, if applicable

Important Instructions

1. How to view marks and download the marksheet:
Open the link provided on the Commission's website under the 'Forest Dept.' tab and enter the registration number, the examination roll number, the registered mobile number and the date of birth.
2. Link deactivation:
The link will be deactivated after 14.05.2026.

Interview Details

1. Schedule:
19.11.2025 and 20.11.2025: first shift from 10:00 with reporting at 09:00 and second shift from 14:30 with reporting at 13:30. 21.11.2025: first shift only, from 10:00 with reporting at 09:00.
2. Reporting deadline:
Reporting time is 09:00 for the first shift and 13:30 for the second; after that no candidate is admitted to the interview centre.
3. Fixed schedule:
The dates and times fixed for the interview will not be changed.
4. Documents to carry:
The Interview Call Letter with one valid photo identity document - voter identity card, passport, driving licence, PAN card or Aadhaar card - and an additional completely filled hard copy of the Personal Profile Sheet.
