- 1. Main written examination papers:
- Two papers. Paper 1 is General Hindi, in which a minimum 30 per cent qualifying mark is compulsory. Paper 2 is General Studies.

- 1249 candidates appeared; 10 were declared disqualified; 1239 answer scripts were evaluated and all 1239 secured the minimum 30 per cent qualifying mark.

Exam Pattern
- 1. Main written examination papers:
- Two papers. Paper 1 is General Hindi, in which a minimum 30 per cent qualifying mark is compulsory. Paper 2 is General Studies.
- 2. Paper 1 - General Hindi:
- 1249 candidates appeared; 10 were declared disqualified; 1239 answer scripts were evaluated and all 1239 secured the minimum 30 per cent qualifying mark.
- 3. Paper 2 - General Studies:
- 1247 candidates appeared; 18 were declared disqualified; 1229 answer scripts were evaluated.
Syllabus Details
- 1. Subjects:
- Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
Selection Process
- 1. Stages held:
- Preliminary written examination, main written examination and physical fitness / physical efficiency test, conducted under Advertisement No. 01/2023.

- The result of the finally selected candidates was published on 20.10.2023.
Admit Card Details
- 1. Availability:
- The Physical Efficiency Test admit card will be available from 27.09.2023 on the Commission website www.bpssc.bih.nic.in under the Prohibition tab.
- 2. No postal despatch:
- It is clarified that no admit card will be sent by post.
- 3. Prelim centre change:
- For Muzaffarpur Centre No. 1403, earlier issued admit cards remain valid; report to the changed centre as notified.
Reservation Details
- 1. Women reservation:
- 35% horizontal reservation for women across all categories as per state rules.
- 2. Dependents of freedom fighters:
- Reserved/backlog quota included within total vacancies as per GA Dept. letter; counted within 21,391.
- 3. Transgender category:
- Recognized in OBC List-2 (Sl. 47); reserved seats (backlog included) counted within total; if suitable candidates are unavailable, seats are not carried forward and are filled in the same recruitment from OBC (Backward Class) general male candidates.
- 4. Special districts (LWE):
- For Bihar Special Armed Police-17, Bodh Gaya, 30% of 73 posts are to be filled from candidates of notified Left-Wing-Extremism-affected districts as per cited orders.
Document Requirements
- 1. When to produce:
- Selected candidates must produce the relevant original certificates and records in person at the concerned department at the time of joining.
- 2. 1. Photo identity:
- A valid photo identity document such as a voter identity card, driving licence or Aadhaar card.
- 3. 2. Educational qualification:
- Certificate of having passed the graduation examination or an equivalent examination.
- 4. 3. Date of birth:
- Date-of-birth certificate (the original matriculation certificate).
- 5. 4. Caste certificate:
- Caste certificate issued by the competent authority, for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Extremely Backward Class and Backward Class candidates. For women candidates, married or unmarried, the caste certificate is valid only if issued on the basis of the father.
- 6. 5. Non-creamy-layer certificate:
- Certificate of not falling in the creamy layer, for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates. For women candidates, married or unmarried, it is valid only if issued on the basis of the father.
- 7. 6. Domicile:
- Certificate of permanent residence in the State of Bihar, for all reserved-category candidates.
- 8. 7. Freedom fighter's descendant certificate (if applicable):
- Original certificate of being the grandson, granddaughter or other descendant of a freedom fighter, in the form prescribed by Government of Bihar General Administration Department letter no. 11687/Sa.Pra. dated 30.08.2016.
- 9. 8. Economically Weaker Section certificate (if applicable):
- Certificate of membership of the economically weaker section of the State of Bihar, in the form prescribed by Government of Bihar General Administration Department notification no. 2622 dated 26 February 2019 (Gazette no. 284).
Important Instructions
- 1. Prelim exam centre change (Muzaffarpur):
- For Centre No. 1403, the examination centre has been changed to Marwari Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Chandwara, Muzaffarpur.
- 2. Arrive with same admit card:
- Report to the changed centre with the previously issued admit card.
- 3. Schedule unchanged:
- The exam date, time and other provisions remain unchanged.

- 11. Absence from the Physical Efficiency Test:
- Attending on the fixed date and undergoing document verification is compulsory; absentees will be treated as ineligible and will not be given a second opportunity. A request for extension of time will not be accepted in any circumstance.
