- 6. Paper-II (30 minutes):
- General Awareness (25 Q, 75 marks) and English Language (25 Q, 75 marks); one negative mark for every wrong answer.
- 7. Paper-III (1 hour):
- Concerned Subject – 50 questions, 150 marks; one negative mark for every wrong answer.

Selection Process
- 1. Screening:
- Applications will be screened by a duly constituted committee.
- 2. Trade Test:
- Shortlisted/eligible candidates will be invited for Trade Test, which is qualifying in nature.
- 3. Written Examination:
- Candidates qualifying the Trade Test will be called for competitive written exam (Papers I–III as per pattern).
- 4. Final merit:
- Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only; Paper-I is qualifying.

Exam Pattern
- 1. Mode of exam:
- OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
- 2. Medium:
- Questions will be set in English and Hindi (except questions on English Language).
- 3. Standard of exam:
- SSC+ITI / XIIth Standard.
- 4. Total questions and duration:
- 150 questions; total time 2 hours 30 minutes.
- 5. Paper-I (1 hour):
- Mental Ability Test – 50 questions, 100 marks (2 marks per correct answer); no negative marking.
- 6. Paper-II (30 minutes):
- General Awareness (25 Q, 75 marks) and English Language (25 Q, 75 marks); one negative mark for every wrong answer.
- 7. Paper-III (1 hour):
- Concerned Subject – 50 questions, 150 marks; one negative mark for every wrong answer.

- 1. Syllabus note:
- Detailed syllabus for trade test and Paper-III (Concerned Subject) will be notified on CSIR’s official website in due course.
Selection Process
- 1. Screening:
- Applications will be screened by a duly constituted committee.
- 2. Trade Test:
- Shortlisted/eligible candidates will be invited for Trade Test, which is qualifying in nature.
- 3. Written Examination:
- Candidates qualifying the Trade Test will be called for competitive written exam (Papers I–III as per pattern).
- 4. Final merit:
- Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only; Paper-I is qualifying.
Reservation Details
- 1. Vertical reservation:
- UR-19, OBC(NCL)-11, SC-06, ST-03, EWS-04.
- 2. Horizontal reservation:
- 02 posts reserved for PwBD (one each for categories ‘b’ and ‘d & e’); 04 posts reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM).
- 3. PwBD suitability:
- Post-wise functional requirements and suitable benchmark disability categories are specified in the notification tables (pages 4–5).
Document Requirements
- 1. Identity and photos:
- Passport-size colour photograph and live photo capture; signature image as per size guidelines.
- 2. Education proof:
- SSC/10th certificates and marksheets; ITI/Trade Certificate relevant to the post.
- 3. Category certificates:
- SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS certificates in prescribed formats; PwBD certificate in Form-V/VI as applicable.
- 4. Service certificates:
- Ex-Servicemen/Serving Armed Forces certificates; No Objection Certificate for Govt./Autonomous/PSU employees, if applicable.
Important Instructions
- 1. Eligibility date:
- All eligibility conditions are reckoned as on the last date for submission of online application.
- 2. One post code per application:
- Submit separate application (and fee, if applicable) for each post code.
- 3. No TA/DA:
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in Trade Test/Written Examination.
- 4. Communication:

Disqualification Criteria
- 1. Unfair means:
- Use of unfair means, impersonation, canvassing, or misconduct during application/tests will lead to disqualification and legal action as per rules.
