Job Details
The Director will provide scientific, technical and administrative leadership to CSIR–NBRI, oversee staff and operations, and be responsible for: (i) achieving the institute’s mission, and (ii) creating an enabling environment for high-level R&D, innovation and S&T activities aligned to societal/industrial relevance. Appointment is for five years or up to the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier, in Pay Matrix Level 15 (Rs. 1,82,200 – 2,24,100) with admissible allowances. As per CSIR rules, housing, transport, medical and other facilities are available; provisions exist for undertaking external R&D/consultancy/S&T services under applicable rules.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: PhD in Natural Sciences OR Master’s in Engineering/Health/Medical Sciences (PhD desirable for these).
- Experience: At least 16 years’ R&D experience with emphasis on applied research and proven leadership.
Age Limitations:
- Age: 45–56 years (relaxation possible for exceptionally meritorious candidates with DG, CSIR approval).
- Tenure: Appointment for five years or up to superannuation age, whichever is earlier.

> Allowances: Admissible allowances as per rules.
