Job Details
SSPL (Solid State Physics Laboratory), DRDO, invites bright students for a 6‑month Paid Internship to work in research areas of national importance. The lab undertakes R&D in advanced semiconductor materials and devices including compound semiconductors (bulk crystal and epi‑layer structure), MEMS, MMICs, acoustic sensor systems, laser diodes, IR sensors and nanotechnology, with facilities for material preparation, characterization, device fabrication and circuit design. Interns will work within non‑classified areas under DRDO rules and the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923, and must adhere to laboratory procedures and security provisions.

- Essential Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (ongoing) OR M.Sc./M.Tech. (ongoing) in relevant disciplines OR equivalent.
- Eligible Streams: Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical, Material Science, Quantum Technology, Laser Optics, Semiconductor Device.
- Who can apply: Only final year (last semester) students.
Salary Details
> Salary Range: ₹5,000 - ₹5,000 Monthly
How to Apply
- 1. Submission mode:
- Apply through the respective institute and send the application by POST (hard copy).
- 2. Address:
- Director, SSPL, Kind attention: HRD, SSPL, DRDO, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi – 110054.
- 3. Deadline:
- Applications must reach on or before 30 September 2026.
- 4. Enclosures:
- Duly filled application form, Character Certificate, recommendation letter/NOC from Institute (on institute letter‑head with start date clearly mentioned), and self‑attested photocopies of all relevant documents.
- 5. Photograph:
- Affix a recent passport size photograph on the application form.

- 1. Selection mode:
- Screening/Interview-based selection.

- Use the attached proforma (dated 29th July 2026).
- 2. Certificates:
- Character Certificate and recommendation letter/NOC from the Institute (on letter‑head with internship start date).
- 3. Supporting documents:
- Self‑attested photocopies of all relevant documents.
- 4. Photograph:
- Recent passport size photograph to be affixed on the form.
Important Instructions
- 1. Seats may vary:
- Number of internships may vary depending on the laboratory’s requirements.
- 2. Internship duration:
- Minimum 4 weeks and maximum 6 months; stipend only for 6‑month internships.
- 3. Official Secrets Act:
- Interns are governed by the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923; access limited to non‑classified areas.
- 4. Compliance:
- Breach of rules/security may lead to termination without notice.
- 5. Liability:
- DRDO will not be responsible for injuries during the internship; equipment must be handled carefully and damages may be chargeable.
- 6. Attendance/working hours:
- Attendance as per lab process; working hours as per laboratory time; no leave except sick leave on valid prescription; gazetted/closed holidays as applicable.
- 7. No job assurance:
- Completion of internship does not guarantee employment at DRDO.
- 8. Extension:
- Extension may be requested up to the overall limit of six months; no stipend beyond 6 months.
