Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (Hooghly CSL), Howrah - a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited - is recruiting one Supervisor (HR) on contract basis under Vacancy Notification No. HCSL/HR/RECTT/CONT/2026-27/4 dated 10.07.2026. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in Arts (other than Fine Arts or Performing Arts), Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, Social Work or Business Administration with at least 60% marks, together with a minimum of seven years of post-qualification experience in human resources, labour welfare, contract labour management, office work, recruitment or records maintenance in a public sector, private sector or commercial organisation. Selection is by a Phase-I written test - an objective type test of 40 marks over 45 minutes covering general knowledge, general English, reasoning, quantitative aptitude and discipline-related questions, plus a descriptive type test of 40 marks over 90 minutes - followed by a Phase-II PowerPoint presentation on work experience of up to ten minutes carrying 20 marks. The engagement runs for a maximum of five years with consolidated pay escalating annually from Rs. 40,650 to Rs. 44,164 per month, and posting is at Hooghly CSL, Howrah and any other Hooghly CSL unit or project site.

Selection Process
- 1. Phase I - Objective type test:
- 40 marks, 45 minutes. Two parts: General (Part A) and Discipline related (Part B) - General Knowledge 5, General English 5, Reasoning 5, Quantitative Aptitude 5 and Discipline related 20 questions. Each question carries one mark.
- 2. Phase I - Descriptive type test:
- 40 marks, 90 minutes, comprising discipline-related questions. Answer sheets are evaluated only for candidates who secure the minimum pass mark in the objective type test and meet the notified eligibility requirements.
- 3. Phase II - PowerPoint presentation:
- 20 marks. A presentation on work experience of not more than ten minutes, held at Hooghly CSL as decided by Hooghly CSL.
- 4. Total:
- 100 marks
- 5. Minimum pass mark:
- 50% of the total marks of each test for the unreserved post; 40% of the total marks of each test for PwBD candidates
- 6. Examination centre:
- The objective and descriptive tests are held at Hooghly CSL, Howrah or as desired by Hooghly CSL, with allocation of centres at its sole discretion. The selection process may be held at the Hooghly CSL Nazirgunge unit, through electronic media, or any other location as decided by Hooghly CSL.
- 7. Certificate verification:
- Selection is subject to verification of age, educational qualification, reservation and experience; originals with self-attested copies must be produced. Only candidates who successfully complete certificate verification are permitted to attend the selection tests.
- 8. Rank list and tie-breaker:
- Rank lists are prepared on the total marks in Phase I and Phase II. On a tie, marks in the discipline part of the objective type test decide the order; on a further tie, relative merit is decided by seniority in age.
