Job Summary

DESIDOC, a premier research lab under DRDO, is conducting a walk-in interview for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Library & Information Science. The fellowship offers a stipend of Rs.37,000/- per month and is initially for two years, extendable based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: B.Sc (First Class) and M.L.I.Sc (First Class) from a UGC recognized University.
  • UGC-NET Qualification: Must be UGC-NET qualified.

Age Limitations:

  • General Category: Maximum 28 years
  • SC/ST Category: Maximum 33 years
  • OBC Category: Maximum 31 years

Salary Details

> Salary Range: 37,000 - ₹37,000 Monthly

> Allowances: HRA as per DRDO rules.

Other Information

  • Other Benefits: Not eligible for DA, CCA, Bonus, Retirement benefits.

How to Apply

1. Step 1:
Send your willingness to attend the interview via email to hrd.desidoc@gov.in by July 5, 2025.
2. Step 2:
Prepare your complete Bio-Data with a recent passport size photo affixed on the top right corner.
3. Step 3:
Bring original certificates and one set of copies of all Degree/Academic qualification certificates/mark sheets/Experience Certificate for verification.
4. Step 4:
Candidates working in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies should produce an NOC issued by the present employer.

Selection Process

1. Interview Process:
Initial screening and verification of testimonials will be done between 1000-1100hrs on the interview date. Interview of the shortlisted candidates will take place from 1100hrs onwards.
2. Written Exam:
A written exam may be conducted depending on the number of candidates appearing, followed by an interview.

Document Requirements

1. Required Documents:
Original certificates and one set of copies of all Degree/Academic qualification certificates/mark sheets/Experience Certificate.
2. NOC:
Candidates working in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies should produce an NOC issued by the present employer.

Important Instructions

1. Interview Guidelines:
Candidates should bring original certificates and one set of copies of all Degree/Academic qualification certificates/mark sheets/Experience Certificate for verification.
2. Electronic Gadgets:
Electronic Gadgets, Pen Drives, Mobile Phones, etc. are strictly prohibited in the Metcalfe House premises due to security reasons.
3. No TA/DA:
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining, if selected.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Canvassing:
Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

1. Part-time PhD:
The candidate may be allowed to register for part-time PhD with any University/Institution during the tenure of the fellowship.
