Job Details
The Ministry of Home Affairs (Disaster Management Division) invites applications for the post of Member, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The NDMA is constituted under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and is responsible for laying down policies, plans and guidelines for disaster management to ensure a timely and effective response to disasters. Under Section 3(2) of the Act the NDMA consists of the Prime Minister of India as ex-officio Chairperson and other members, not exceeding nine, to be nominated by the Chairperson. Applications are invited from persons preferably having a substantive background or experience in different aspects of disaster management, both man-made and natural.
