The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I) 2026. This examination is a gateway for candidates aspiring to join the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 157th Course and the 119th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The notification details the application process, eligibility criteria, examination schedule, and selection process.

1. Application Period:

The application window for the NDA & NA Examination (I) 2026 is open until December 30, 2025. Candidates must apply online through the UPSC website.

2. Examination Date:

The examination is scheduled to be conducted on April 12, 2026, across various centers in India.

3. Total Number of Vacancies:

Approximately 394 vacancies are available, distributed across the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and the Naval Academy.

4. Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must be unmarried males or females, born between July 2, 2007, and July 1, 2010, and must meet the educational qualifications specified for each wing.

5. Application Fee:

An application fee of ₹100 is applicable for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/female candidates and wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempted from paying the fee.
