Job Details
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) seeks two retired Government sector professionals as Consultants on contract at its HQ, New Delhi—one Civil Engineer and one Electrical Engineer. The Civil Consultant will handle building and maintenance matters including coordination with NBCC, tendering and procurement via GeM/e‑procurement, BoQ/NIT preparation, budgeting, contract management, work monitoring, bill processing, technical scrutiny, audit compliance, and upkeep of office infrastructure. The Electrical Consultant will plan and design electrical layouts (lighting, power distribution, earthing, UPS, DG sets), prepare estimates/BOQs with rate analysis (CPWD/DSR or equivalent), manage tendering and bid evaluation, supervise execution and O&M of electrical installations (panels, transformers, DG, UPS), ensure safety and statutory compliance, maintain documentation, and coordinate with contractors and internal divisions. Engagement is initially for one year and is governed by TRAI’s guidelines; remuneration is fixed as per applicable Government instructions.

- Remuneration—Central Govt pensioners: Fixed monthly amount arrived by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement (DoE OM 09.12.2020).
- Remuneration—retired DoT PSU employees: Notional basic pay taken as mean of Cell‑1 and Cell‑10 of equivalent Central Government pay level; 50% of such basic pay allowed as remuneration (DoT letter 29.03.2022).
- Remuneration—Central Govt retirees under NPS: 30% of last basic pay is deducted; the resultant amount is the fixed monthly remuneration (DoE OM 18.10.2023).
