Job Details
Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) invites online applications from Indian citizens for Assistant Manager (Electrical/Mechanical) on contract for a maximum of five years. For Mechanical, candidates must have a Degree in Mechanical/Marine/Navel Architecture Engineering with minimum 60% marks and at least three years’ post-qualification experience in areas such as Quality Control, Machinery, Hull Fabrication/Erection, Piping, Installation & Commissioning, Outfitting or Accommodation Outfitting in the above sectors. Reservation Details
- 1. Policy:
- Government of India directives on reservation shall apply.
- 2. Certificates:
- SC/ST applicants must produce a valid recent community certificate in the prescribed format issued by Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar.
- 3. PwBD:
- PwBD not included due to hazardous operations at UCSL.
- 4. Backlog:
- Vacancies marked with * are backlog.
- 5. Age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years (only for reserved posts); Ex-servicemen: as per GoI guidelines, overall cap 40 years.
- 6. Ex-serviceman definition:
- As detailed in the notification (Regular Army/Navy/Air Force service with conditions including pension/medical grounds/reduction in establishment, APS personnel, TA pensioners, gallantry awardees, ex-recruits with medical disability pension, etc.).
Document Requirements
- 1. Mandatory originals:
- Original certificates in proof of age, educational qualification, experience, caste, disability etc. must be produced at certificate verification/joining as applicable.
- 2. Upload in portal:
- All requisite certificates and a recent passport size colour photograph must be uploaded in the SAP online application portal.
- 3. Present employment proof:
- If no experience certificate, submit Appointment Order/Offer letter and latest Pay Slip/last Pay drawn.
- 4. Past employment proof:
- Experience certificate indicating date of joining and relieving is required.
- 5. Contractor experience proof:
- Principal Employer endorsement on contractor-issued certificates along with ESI/EPF statements is required; contractor training certificates without endorsement not accepted.
- 6. Equivalency certificate:
- Equivalency Certificate from Competent Authority is required where applicable.
- 7. Ex-servicemen:
- Discharge Certificate/Book/PPO and proof of qualification/experience in relevant discipline as applicable.
Important Instructions
- 1. Eligibility check:
- Applicants must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before applying.
- 2. No TA/DA:
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.
- 3. Provisional candidature:
- Candidature is provisional subject to verification; false/incorrect information or suppression of facts will lead to cancellation/rejection without notice.
- 4. Contract nature:
- Vacancies are purely on contract; UCSL is not liable to offer appointment during/after completion of the contract period.
- 5. Rank list validity:
- Rank lists valid up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate advised to join (or until a fresh notification), and may be operated for future vacancies with approval.
- 6. Right to modify/cancel:
- UCSL may restrict/alter/cancel/modify the recruitment process.
- 7. Jurisdiction:
- Legal proceedings, if any, shall lie only in Courts/Tribunals/Forums at Udupi.
- 8. Amendments:
- Any amendment/modification/addition to the advertisement will be given only on CSL/UCSL websites.
Interview Details
- 1. Venue/mode:
- PowerPoint presentation and Personal Interview at UCSL Malpe/Kochi or through electronic media or other location as decided by UCSL.
- 2. Prerequisite:
- Only candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be allowed to attend PowerPoint presentation and Interview.
Disqualification Criteria
- 1. Canvassing:
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- 2. Incomplete/invalid data:
- Incomplete/withdrawn/draft applications will not be considered; filling garbage/junk details can lead to rejection.
- 3. Non-payment of fee:
- Where applicable, candidature will be considered only on receipt of application fee.
