The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026. - 1. Application Period:
- The application window for the Engineering Services Examination 2026 is open from September 26, 2025, to October 16, 2025. Candidates must apply online through the UPSC portal.
- 2. Examination Date:
- The Preliminary Examination for the Engineering Services will be conducted on February 8, 2026.
- 3. Total Number of Vacancies:
- Approximately 474 vacancies are expected to be filled through this examination, including 26 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
- 4. Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must hold a degree in Engineering from a recognized university and be between 21 and 30 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories.
- 5. Application Fee:
- An application fee of ₹200 is applicable for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/PwBD and female candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
