How to Apply
- 1. Application mode:
- Apply online; the last date for submission is extended to 30.04.2026.
Exam Pattern
- 1. OMR options:
- Five options (A, B, C, D, E) will be provided; ‘E’ means Not Attempted.
- 2. Marking for non-attempt:
- If a question is not to be answered, it is mandatory to mark option ‘E’.
- 3. Negative marking (blank):
- Leaving a question completely blank (no option marked) will result in 1/3 mark deduction per question.
- 4. Paper durations (including compensatory time):
- General Studies — 1 hour 40 minutes; Law — 2 hours 15 minutes.
- 5. Conduct of prelims:
- Held on 03 June 2026 at Patna centres in two shifts.
- 6. Preliminary papers:
- Two papers: General Studies (morning) and Law (afternoon) as per programme dated 13.05.2026.
- 7. Session timings:
- General Studies: 10:00 AM–11:30 AM; Law: 2:00 PM–4:00 PM on 03-06-2026 (as per programme).
Important Instructions
- 1. Terms unchanged:
- All other conditions of the advertisement dated 23.02.2026 remain the same.
- 2. Exam postponed:
- The Preliminary Examination scheduled on 23 June 2026 (Sunday) is postponed pursuant to the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order dated 22.05.2026.

- This arrangement is being implemented for the first time and will not apply to future examinations; candidates should not treat it as a precedent.
