- 1. Preliminary examination:
- Objective, 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes, separately timed: English Language 30 questions / 30 marks / 20 minutes; Numerical Ability 35 / 35 / 20 minutes; Reasoning Ability 35 / 35 / 20 minutes
- 2. Preliminary qualifying:
- Candidates must clear a cut-off in each of the three tests, decided by IBPS; the shortlisted proceed to the Main examination
- 3. Main examination:
- Objective, 160 questions for 200 marks in 125 minutes, separately timed: General/Financial Awareness 40 questions / 50 marks / 20 minutes; General English 40 / 40 / 35 minutes; Reasoning Ability 40 / 60 / 35 minutes; Quantitative Aptitude 40 / 50 / 35 minutes
- 4. Medium of examination:
- English Language and General English are in English; the other tests are offered in the versions listed for the state or union territory applied for
- 5. Negative marking:
- 0.25 of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in the objective tests; unanswered questions carry no penalty
