Job Details

Common Recruitment Process conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for the recruitment of Specialist Officers in the officers' cadre against the 2026-27 vacancies of participating public sector banks, covering IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer, all in Scale I. Candidates who clear the Preliminary and Main online examinations appear for an interview conducted by the participating banks and are then provisionally allotted.

Cut Off Marks

1. Main examination cut-off:
Each candidate must obtain a minimum score in the Online Main examination and score sufficiently high to be shortlisted for interview. Cut-offs are set on the number of vacancies available
2. Disclosure:
Main examination scores are not shared with shortlisted candidates before the interview process is complete

Exam Pattern

1. Preliminary - IT, Agricultural Field, HR/Personnel and Marketing Officer:
150 questions for 125 marks over 2 hours: English Language 50 questions / 25 marks / 40 minutes; Reasoning 50 / 50 / 40 minutes; Quantitative Aptitude 50 / 50 / 40 minutes
2. Preliminary - Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari:
150 questions for 125 marks over 2 hours: English Language 50 / 25 / 40 minutes; Reasoning 50 / 50 / 40 minutes; General Awareness with special reference to the banking industry 50 / 50 / 40 minutes
3. Preliminary qualifying:
Candidates must clear a minimum cut-off in each of the three tests, decided by IBPS; the shortlisted proceed to the Main examination
4. Main - Law, IT, Agricultural Field, HR/Personnel and Marketing Officer:
Professional Knowledge, 60 questions for 60 marks in 45 minutes, in English and Hindi
5. Main - Rajbhasha Adhikari:
Professional Knowledge objective, 45 questions for 60 marks in 30 minutes, plus Professional Knowledge descriptive, 2 questions in 30 minutes, both in English and Hindi
6. Negative marking:
0.25 of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in the objective tests of both the Preliminary and Main examinations; unanswered questions carry no penalty
7. Time at the venue:
The Preliminary examination runs 2 hours but candidates should expect about 3 hours at the venue; the Main examination runs 45 or 60 minutes with about 2 hours at the venue

Selection Process

Online Preliminary examination (objective)
2. Stage 2:
Online Main examination (Professional Knowledge)
3. Stage 3:
Interview of 100 marks conducted by the participating banks and coordinated by the nodal bank
4. Weightage:
Online Main examination and interview in the ratio 80:20; the combined final score decides the merit
5. Provisional allotment:
Candidates sufficiently high in the merit are provisionally allotted to a participating bank

Interview Details

1. Marks:
100
2. Minimum qualifying marks:
Not less than 40%; 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates
3. Venue:
Select centres; the centre, venue address, date and time are given in the call letter. Requests to change the date or centre are not entertained

2. Documents at the examination:
A valid call letter for the date and session, and photo identity proof in original bearing the same name as on the call letter. Main examination candidates must also bring the authenticated call letter and ID copy from the Preliminary examination. Late arrivals are not admitted
3. No Pre-Examination Training:
The CRP SPL-XV schedule does not provide for pre-examination training
4. Annexures:
Annexure I vacancies, the examination centre list, scanning and upload guidelines, and blank certificate proformas. The blank proformas have not been extracted
