Job Details

CEPI seeks Senior Legal Consultants (Level-10) on a full-time, purely contractual basis to assist on legal matters of the Office. Engagement is initially for three years, subject to annual performance review, and may be extended based on requirement with approval, one year at a time. Consultants must observe confidentiality, sign a Non‑Disclosure Undertaking, and have no criminal record or pending cases. No allowances such as residential accommodation, CGHS or medical reimbursement are admissible; TA/DA for official domestic travel is as per entitlement of the analogous post with prior approval. Weekly off on Saturdays, Sundays and Central Government Gazetted Holidays; paid leave as admissible under the circular.

1. Senior Legal Consultant (Level-10)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Retired Government officials: Retired Central/State Govt/PSU employee at Deputy Secretary level or equivalent (Pay Matrix Level‑12) with experience in Ministry of Law & Justice or JAG branch of Armed Forces/CAPFs on legal matters.
  • Other candidates (essential): LLB from a NIRF top 50 ranked University/Institute; membership of the Bar Council of India; 5+ years’ experience in legal practice or legal department dealing with Property Law, Revenue Law and Litigation.
  • Desirable: Post‑Graduate Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Land Laws or related fields; strong analytical, drafting and communication skills; working knowledge of MS Office.

Age Limitations:

  • Maximum age: 64 years for retired Government officials; 45 years for other candidates (both as on the application closing date).

Salary Details

> Salary Range: 72,000 - ₹72,000 Monthly

> Grade Pay: Equivalent to Pay Level-10 of the Central Government

> Allowances: No allowances such as residential accommodation, CGHS or medical reimbursement, personal/support staff; TA/DA for official domestic travel as per entitlement of analogous post with prior approval; no reimbursement for joining or exit travel.

  • Remuneration for retired officials: As per DoPT guidelines (Last Pay Drawn minus Pension).

Reservation Details

Important Instructions

Bond or Service Agreement

1. Non‑Disclosure Undertaking:
A Non‑Disclosure Undertaking (Annexure‑II) must be signed prior to joining.
2. Notice periods:
CEPI may terminate engagement with 15 days’ written notice; officials wishing to resign must give 15 days’ advance written notice or remit remuneration in lieu, unless waived by the competent authority.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Criminal record:
Candidates with criminal records or pending cases are not eligible.
2. Incomplete application:
Incomplete/unsigned applications will be rejected.

Other Information

1. Tax deduction:
Applicable TDS will be deducted as per Income Tax Rules; TDS certificate will be provided.
