Job Details

NISE is implementing the Grid India–supported R&D project “Hybrid Day‑Ahead and Intra‑Day Solar Weather Forecasting for Large Parks in India.” Two Senior Project Scientists are to be engaged on short‑term contract at NISE, Gurugram. Key work includes: for the Short‑Term Solar Forecasting & Image Analytics role—develop short‑/intra‑hour models using image‑based analytics, satellite inputs and ground observations; implement cloud detection/motion estimation and irradiance nowcasting; integrate image‑derived features in hybrid forecasts; analyse high‑frequency data for ramp events; prepare reports and documentation; support training and stakeholder consultations. For the Probabilistic Forecasting & DSM Analytics role—develop probabilistic approaches (P50/P75/P90, ensemble uncertainty), validate reliability/sharpness (e.g., CRPS, quantile metrics), analyse SCADA/deviation datasets, simulate DSM penalty reduction, perform techno‑economic assessment and multi‑region performance assessments; prepare reports and support consultations/training. Engagement is full‑time, initially for one year and extendable up to 30 months or till project completion, with no claim for regular appointment and no TA/DA for interview/joining.

Salary Details

> Salary Range: ₹1,20,000 - ₹1,30,000 Monthly
