Job Details

The National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), an attached office of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and a collaborating knowledge partner with the Department of Land Resources in the World Bank aided Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development (REWARD) programme, proposes to hire one National Level Network Manager on contract basis. The REWARD programme strengthens the capacities of national and state institutions to adopt improved watershed management, using a scientific and data driven approach with remote sensing, GIS and mapping tools integrated into a system of Land Resources Interventions and a data portal, to build decision support systems for location specific soil and water conservation, nutrient and water management plans. Its two result areas are strengthened institutions and supportive policy for watershed development, and scientific-based watershed development for climate resilience and enhanced livelihoods. The Network Manager coordinates and liaises with consortium partners and state governments and serves as the interface between NRAA and associated consortium partners and professional agencies; guides, facilitates and supervises the technical details of approach, protocols, methodologies, equipment, criteria for analysis and interpretation of data and presentation of results for each domain in each state; drives the assignment to timelines and generates reports for the Department of Land Resources, documents analyses and develops National Technical Standards for improved watershed management; accesses high quality data supporting watershed management research and upgrades practitioners' skills; and supervises development of the web portal for storing, processing, analysing and running decision support systems, including data structure, hardware and software specifications and data security.

Job Summary

NRAA is hiring one National Level Network Manager on contract, initially for one year, for the World Bank aided REWARD watershed programme, at Rs. 2,00,000 to Rs. 2,20,000 per month. A Master's degree in Engineering (Agriculture/Civil/Electronics/IT), Science (Agriculture/Horticulture/Environment/Forestry) or Management, with 10 to 15 years of experience in web technology and portal, MIS development and management, videoconferencing and network operations in agriculture and allied sectors, is required; the maximum age is normally 65 years.   • Basis of fixation: The amount of monthly consolidated remuneration will be in the range of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Rs. 2,20,000/- per month depending upon educational qualifications and experience
  • Retired government officials: For retired government officials the monthly remuneration is calculated by deducting basic pension from the basic pay drawn at the time of retirement; in addition the retired official is paid Transport Allowance per month not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement
