Job Details
The National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), an attached office of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare that serves as an advisory and scientific body for the development of rainfed areas and is engaged in policy and programme formulation and monitoring of schemes addressing agrarian challenges across the rainfed eco-system, invites applications for engagement on contract basis on fixed remuneration for one year from the date of engagement, which may be extended or curtailed as per functional need. Technical Consultants (Watershed Development and Water Management) assist Technical Experts and the Senior Technical Consultant in preparing strategy documents, policy notes and technical or research studies and capacity-building material, collate information on technologies and practices, assist in formulating programme guidelines, manuals and interventions for watershed development, monitor pilot and research projects, coordinate with departments and agencies dealing with sustainable use of natural resources, and assist in monitoring and evaluation of Government and State programmes taken up by NRAA. Young Professionals collate data, information, technologies and national and international experience for effective management of rainfed agriculture, make field visits and supervise drought-proofing action plans, assist in formulating programme guidelines and interventions, monitor pilot and research projects, and assist in formulating State-wise perspective plans for holistic development of rainfed areas; the IT/ICT Young Professional provides IT support, portal management, MIS development and linking of State web services with national portals, DBT and PFMS. All engagements are full time and the person engaged may not take up any other assignment.

- Retired government officials: For retired government officials the monthly remuneration is calculated by deducting basic pension from the basic pay drawn at the time of retirement; in addition the retired official is paid Transport Allowance per month not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement
