The UPSC has released detailed instructions for candidates appearing in the Combined Medical Services Examination 2025. The notification outlines the examination format, marking scheme, and important guidelines for candidates.

1. Examination Format:
The examination consists of two papers, each with a duration of two hours. Paper-II covers Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine.
2. Marking Scheme:
Each question carries equal marks, with a penalty for wrong answers. One-third of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for incorrect answers.
3. Candidate Responsibilities:
Candidates must ensure their test booklet is complete and fill in their Roll Number and Test Booklet Series correctly on the OMR sheet.
4. Answer Sheet Submission:
Candidates must submit only the Answer Sheet to the invigilator after the examination. The Test Booklet can be taken home.
5. Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
