- Male candidates domiciled in Bihar belonging to the Extremely Backward Class, Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section and Unreserved categories, and all candidates from outside Bihar of any category and any gender (male, female or third gender)

- Male candidates domiciled in Bihar belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, all female candidates domiciled in Bihar of every category, and third-gender candidates
Payment Methods
- 1. Mode:
- Online payment only, through net banking or a credit card or RuPay debit card current in India. No other payment mode is accepted.
- 2. Bank charges:
- The Commission takes no amount beyond the application fee, but bank charges on net banking or credit or RuPay debit card transactions are borne by the candidate
Other Information
- 1. No refund:
- The fee is not refunded once payment succeeds. A candidate who obtains a chargeback of the fee from the bank after registering or submitting the application will have the application rejected and may face legal action.
- 2. Failed transaction:
- If the amount is debited because of a power or internet failure or a slow bank link and registration does not complete, the amount is returned by the payment gateway after seven working days
- 3. Cancelled registration:
- A candidate who cancels the registration or a wrongly filled submitted application must pay the fee again for a fresh application; the earlier fee is not refunded

How to Apply

- Online application only. Go to https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in, open the Transport Dept. tab, click the link relating to Advt. No. 03/2025, then follow the application link on that page.
- 2. Application window:
- The online application process begins on 30.05.2025 and the last date for receipt of the online application is 30.06.2025. No extension of the last date will be granted, and requests to correct applications sent by post or other means will not be considered.
- 3. Registration:
- Keep a valid and active mobile number and e-mail ID, preferably registered in the candidate's own name; both are mandatory for registration. The registration ID and password are sent by SMS and e-mail. The Commission communicates on the same mobile number and e-mail ID until the last stage of recruitment and is not responsible for a wrong, invalid or disconnected number or e-mail ID.
- 4. One application per mobile number:
- Only one application can be filled from one mobile number, and the mobile phone must be with the candidate while the form is filled. A candidate may submit only one online application; if more than one is submitted, all of them are rejected.
- 5. First part of the form:
- Registration, capturing name, nationality, mobile number, e-mail ID, Bihar domicile, reservation category, gender and date of birth, followed by payment. Details may be edited before payment.
- 6. Second part of the form:
- After logging in with the registration number and password, fill father's or husband's name, mother's name, address and educational qualification correctly and agree to the declaration, then upload the photograph and signature
- 7. Photograph:
- Colour photograph taken within the last two months on a white background, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format
- 8. Signature:
- Signatures in English and in Hindi uploaded separately, in black or blue ink on a white background, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format
- 9. Editing and submission:
- Details may be edited using the Edit Details button before final submission; after Confirm and Submit no change is permitted. The process is complete only when a confirmation SMS or e-mail is received. The acknowledgement should be printed on A4 paper, checked and produced whenever demanded.
- 10. Nothing to be posted:
- The completed online application need not be sent to the Commission, but the registration number is required for future correspondence, and a copy of the acknowledgement with photograph must be retained and attached whenever the candidate writes to the Commission

Exam Pattern
- 1. Structure:
- The mains written examination had two papers, held in two sittings on Sunday 14.12.2025
- 2. First paper - General Hindi:
- A qualifying paper requiring a minimum 30 per cent. 639 candidates appeared, 4 were declared ineligible, 635 answer sheets were evaluated and every one of those candidates cleared the 30 per cent minimum.
- 3. Second paper - General Studies:
- 638 candidates appeared, 8 were declared ineligible and 630 answer sheets were evaluated
- 4. Shortlisting for the physical test:
- From among the candidates scoring the minimum qualifying mark, six times the vacancies were selected category-wise in order of merit

- 1. Stages held:
- Written examination, physical examination and interview, conducted under Advertisement No. 03/2025.
- 2. Final selection:
- The result of the finally selected candidates was published on 10.03.2026.

Reservation Details
- 1. Governing Act:
- Reservation applies under the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1991 (Bihar Act 3, 1992) as amended from time to time
- 2. Women:
- Keeping intact the 3 per cent reservation for women of the Backward Classes, 35 per cent of the remaining 97 per cent of reserved and unreserved posts are reserved separately for women in every reservation category. This is a horizontal reservation. If enough qualified women are not available, the remaining vacancy is filled by qualified men of the same category. Under Section 4(3) of Bihar Act 3, 1992, women may also be appointed on merit over and above the 35 per cent.
- 3. Economically Weaker Sections:
- The Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2019 applies. Only a certificate made on the basis of the income and assets of financial year 2024-2025 is acceptable.
- 4. Third gender:
- Kinnar, kothi, hijra and transgender persons are included independently at entry 47 of the list of Other Backward Classes (Schedule-2) of the 1991 Act, and receive the reservation available to the Backward Classes in the state's services, per General Administration Department resolution No. 12722 dated 12 September 2014. Gender is determined by the identity card issued by the District Magistrate under Gazette No. 483 dated 25.09.2020 and General Administration Department letter No. 5970 dated 02.04.2025.
- 5. Candidates from other states:
- The benefit of reservation is available only to original residents of Bihar. Reserved-category candidates of other states are counted as unreserved candidates, with the age limit and other eligibility prescribed for unreserved candidates, and must declare themselves unreserved in the application, failing which the application is automatically cancelled.

- 5. Non-creamy-layer certificate:
- Certificate of not falling in the creamy layer together with Form-XVIII B, for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates. A woman candidate's non-creamy-layer certificate, whether she is married or unmarried, is valid only if issued on the basis of her father.
- 6. Permanent residence certificate:
- Certificate of being a permanent resident of the State of Bihar, for candidates of all reserved categories
- 7. Economically Weaker Sections certificate:
- Certificate of membership of the Economically Weaker Sections of Bihar, made on the basis of income and assets of financial year 2024-2025, in the form prescribed by General Administration Department notification No. 2622 dated 26 February 2019 (Gazette No. 284)
- 8. Government servant certificate:
- Where applicable, a certificate of being a government servant of the Government of Bihar. A serving government servant who has completed at least three years of regular service by the cut-off date stated in the advertisement must compulsorily bring a certificate issued by the controlling officer.

How to Apply
- 1. Mode:
- Online application only. Go to https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in, open the Transport Dept. tab, click the link relating to Advt. No. 03/2025, then follow the application link on that page.
- 2. Application window:
- The online application process begins on 30.05.2025 and the last date for receipt of the online application is 30.06.2025. No extension of the last date will be granted, and requests to correct applications sent by post or other means will not be considered.
- 3. Registration:
- Keep a valid and active mobile number and e-mail ID, preferably registered in the candidate's own name; both are mandatory for registration. The registration ID and password are sent by SMS and e-mail. The Commission communicates on the same mobile number and e-mail ID until the last stage of recruitment and is not responsible for a wrong, invalid or disconnected number or e-mail ID.
- 4. One application per mobile number:
- Only one application can be filled from one mobile number, and the mobile phone must be with the candidate while the form is filled. A candidate may submit only one online application; if more than one is submitted, all of them are rejected.
- 5. First part of the form:
- Registration, capturing name, nationality, mobile number, e-mail ID, Bihar domicile, reservation category, gender and date of birth, followed by payment. Details may be edited before payment.
- 6. Second part of the form:
- After logging in with the registration number and password, fill father's or husband's name, mother's name, address and educational qualification correctly and agree to the declaration, then upload the photograph and signature
- 7. Photograph:
- Colour photograph taken within the last two months on a white background, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format
- 8. Signature:
- Signatures in English and in Hindi uploaded separately, in black or blue ink on a white background, 15 to 25 KB, in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format
- 9. Editing and submission:
- Details may be edited using the Edit Details button before final submission; after Confirm and Submit no change is permitted. The process is complete only when a confirmation SMS or e-mail is received. The acknowledgement should be printed on A4 paper, checked and produced whenever demanded.

Exam Pattern
- 1. Structure:
- The mains written examination had two papers, held in two sittings on Sunday 14.12.2025
- 2. First paper - General Hindi:
- A qualifying paper requiring a minimum 30 per cent. 639 candidates appeared, 4 were declared ineligible, 635 answer sheets were evaluated and every one of those candidates cleared the 30 per cent minimum.
- 3. Second paper - General Studies:
- 638 candidates appeared, 8 were declared ineligible and 630 answer sheets were evaluated
- 4. Shortlisting for the physical test:
- From among the candidates scoring the minimum qualifying mark, six times the vacancies were selected category-wise in order of merit

Reservation Details
- 1. Governing Act:
- Reservation applies under the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1991 (Bihar Act 3, 1992) as amended from time to time
- 2. Women:
- Keeping intact the 3 per cent reservation for women of the Backward Classes, 35 per cent of the remaining 97 per cent of reserved and unreserved posts are reserved separately for women in every reservation category. This is a horizontal reservation. If enough qualified women are not available, the remaining vacancy is filled by qualified men of the same category. Under Section 4(3) of Bihar Act 3, 1992, women may also be appointed on merit over and above the 35 per cent.
- 3. Economically Weaker Sections:
- The Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2019 applies. Only a certificate made on the basis of the income and assets of financial year 2024-2025 is acceptable.
- 4. Third gender:
- Kinnar, kothi, hijra and transgender persons are included independently at entry 47 of the list of Other Backward Classes (Schedule-2) of the 1991 Act, and receive the reservation available to the Backward Classes in the state's services, per General Administration Department resolution No. 12722 dated 12 September 2014. Gender is determined by the identity card issued by the District Magistrate under Gazette No. 483 dated 25.09.2020 and General Administration Department letter No. 5970 dated 02.04.2025.
- 5. Candidates from other states:
- The benefit of reservation is available only to original residents of Bihar. Reserved-category candidates of other states are counted as unreserved candidates, with the age limit and other eligibility prescribed for unreserved candidates, and must declare themselves unreserved in the application, failing which the application is automatically cancelled.

- 6. Permanent residence certificate:
- Certificate of being a permanent resident of the State of Bihar, for candidates of all reserved categories
- 7. Economically Weaker Sections certificate:
- Certificate of membership of the Economically Weaker Sections of Bihar, made on the basis of income and assets of financial year 2024-2025, in the form prescribed by General Administration Department notification No. 2622 dated 26 February 2019 (Gazette No. 284)
- 8. Government servant certificate:
- Where applicable, a certificate of being a government servant of the Government of Bihar. A serving government servant who has completed at least three years of regular service by the cut-off date stated in the advertisement must compulsorily bring a certificate issued by the controlling officer.
