Job Details
India Ship Technology Centre (ISTC), a Section 8 company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, invites Indian citizens to apply online for executive positions on contract. The recruitment covers Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer (R&D), Manager (Training & Skill Development), Assistant Manager (Technical), Assistant Manager (Information Technology), Executive (Finance), and Executive (HR & Administration). - Educational Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
- Experience (Essential): 15 years of managerial experience in Ship design/Shipyard/R&D organization, of which 5 years shall be as in charge of the section or department; proven track record of managing projects in shipbuilding or maritime sectors; for PSU/Government/Autonomous bodies in regular cadre, one year must be in the immediate lower scale or equivalent; private sector/contract applicants must be drawing CTC (cash/monetary part) comparable to the immediate lower scale of pay.
- Desirable: Experience in training, consultancy or policy/advisory roles; knowledge of classification society rules (IRS, DNV, LR, ABS); excellent communication, stakeholder management and strategic planning skills.

3. Manager (Training & Skill Development) on contract basis
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Production Engineering from a recognized University. Desirable: Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA from a recognized University.
- Experience: Seven years of managerial experience in the maritime/shipbuilding sector; preference for candidates with at least 2 years’ experience in training, skilling, or capacity building; for PSU/Government/Autonomous bodies in regular cadre, one year must be in the immediate lower scale or equivalent; private sector/contract applicants must be drawing CTC (cash/monetary part) comparable to the immediate lower scale of pay.

- For Assistant Manager (Technical/IT) and Executive (Finance/HR & Administration), a Written Test may also be conducted depending on the number of applications.
- 3. Shortlisting & verification:
- Applications will be scrutinized; only candidates meeting eligibility based on uploaded certificates will be shortlisted. Only those who complete certificate verification successfully will be permitted to attend the Personal Interview.
- 4. Rank list:
- Rank lists will be prepared based on aggregate marks in the Written Test (if applicable) and Personal Interview; in case of a tie, higher age will be given preference.
- 5. Call letters:
- Information to download call letters and selection schedules will be intimated via e‑mail/ISTC website; no call letters will be sent by post.

- 5. Vacancy variation:
- ISTC may increase/decrease vacancies, cancel the recruitment process, or restrict/alter/modify the process.

- Personal Interview; schedule to be intimated via e‑mail/ISTC website.

- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
Other Information
- 1. Tenure clarification:
- The vacancies are purely on contract for a specific period; ISTC is not liable to offer appointment during/after completion of contract.
- 2. Medical fitness:
- Appointment is subject to medical fitness as prescribed by ISTC.
- 3. Rank list validity:
- Rank list validity up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate advised to join, or until a fresh notification for the same post is issued.
- 4. Legal jurisdiction:
- Any legal proceedings shall lie only in courts/tribunals/forums at Ernakulam.
- 5. Amendments:
- Any amendment/modification/addition to the advertisement will be published on the ISTC website only.
