SSC will conduct the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 for recruitment to Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) posts of Junior Engineer in various Central Government organizations/offices and for Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department. Posts are in Pay Matrix Level-6 (Rs. 35400–112400) of the 7th CPC and carry All India Service Liability. The selection comprises a qualifying Paper-I (CBE) followed by Paper‑II (CBE) whose normalized scores determine final merit; post preferences are taken before First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA). Document Verification is conducted by the user department after the final result. For BRO JE posts, only male candidates are eligible and must meet prescribed PET, physical and medical standards.

SSC will conduct the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 for recruitment to Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) posts of Junior Engineer in various Central Government organizations/offices and for Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department. Posts are in Pay Matrix Level-6 (Rs. 35400–112400) of the 7th CPC and carry All India Service Liability. The selection comprises a qualifying Paper-I (CBE) followed by Paper‑II (CBE) whose normalized scores determine final merit; post preferences are taken before First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA). Training Details
- 1. Training during probation:
- During the two‑year probation, candidates may be required to undergo prescribed training or pass examinations (Para 18.15).
Disqualification Criteria
- 1. Malpractices and debarment:
- Specified malpractices (e.g., taking away exam material, misbehavior, possession of electronic gadgets, unfair means, impersonation, hacking, sharing terminals) attract debarment ranging from 1 to 7 years and legal action (Para 21).

- 1. Public disclosure of scores:
- Scores/ranking of non‑recommended willing candidates may be published on SSC website as per DoP&T OM dated 21.06.2016 (Para 19).
- 2. Tie resolution:
- Ties are resolved by marks in Part (i) of Paper‑I, then Part (ii) of Paper‑I, then date of birth (older higher), then alphabetical order of names (Para 20).
