Job Details

The Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Border Management) has established the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) under the Land Ports Authority of India Act, 2010 (31 of 2010) to put in place systems which address security imperatives and for the development and management of facilities for cross border movement of passengers and goods at designated points along the international land borders of India. The post of Member (Planning & Development), LPAI, a Joint Secretary level post, is going to fall vacant. For preparing a panel of names to be considered by a Search-cum-Selection Committee, applications are invited from persons who have special knowledge and experience in the field of Planning & Development. The Member (P&D) of the Authority shall be a whole-time Member of the level of Joint Secretary to the Government of India and shall be selected on deputation or contract basis. For qualifications, terms of office and conditions of service the Land Ports Authority of India Act, 2010 and the Land Ports Authority of India Rules, 2011 may be referred to.

1. Mode:

Selection Process

1. Search-cum-Selection Committee:
A panel of names is prepared for consideration by a Search-cum-Selection Committee for appointment to the office of Member (P&D) of LPAI
2. Approval:
As per the procedure laid down in DoP&T's O.M. No. 27/2/2009-EO (SM.II) dated 16th July, 2009, appointment to the post of Member (P&D) will be made after the approval of the ACC
3. Joining:
The selected candidate will give his/her consent to join within the stipulated period. If the candidate does not join within 30 days, a 15 days notice would be issued to him/her to either join or to face debarment as per laid down procedure
4. Right to reject:
The Search-cum-Selection Committee reserves the right to reject any and/or all applications received for the office of Member (P&D), LPAI without assigning any reason

Application in the prescribed format at Annexure-A, including present pay level in the pay matrix, total years of service in the present pay level, equivalency of the present post with reference to the post in Government of India, and ACR/APAR grading for the last/latest 5 years including No Report Certificate (NRC) details

3. Departmental certificate:
For a departmental candidate, a certificate from the Head of Office covering correctness of particulars, eligibility, absence of disciplinary/vigilance case, no major/minor penalty in the last 10 years, integrity, no objection to immediate relieving on selection, and enclosure of attested ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years
4. Clearances:
Cadre clearance, vigilance clearance, ACR dossiers/certified ACRs for last five years, details of debarment if any, and cooling off details in respect of past Central deputation
