Job Details
The Director (Engineering) in the Development Wing of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways will: (i) scrutinize detailed project/feasibility reports and cost estimates for schemes relating to major/minor/intermediate ports and fishing harbour projects/schemes referred by the Ministry of Agriculture; (ii) examine tender documents and specifications proposed for civil works of port projects; (iii) prepare/scrutinize draft notes for EFC, PIB and CCEA on investment proposals; and (iv) handle work relating to committees/working groups connected with major ports in which the Development Advisor (Ports) is a member. The post is to be filled on deputation (including short-term contract) basis for a period of four years.

- Educational qualification: Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Experience: Ten years’ experience in either (a) design, construction and maintenance of civil engineering works including harbour engineering, OR (b) maintenance and operation of different types of cranes, diesel locos, marine engines, winches and auxiliary machinery in a mechanical or marine workshop/organization.
- Who may apply: Officers of Central/State Governments/Union Territories/Major Ports/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Universities/Research Organizations holding analogous post or with five years’ regular service in the prescribed scale (or equivalent).
Age Limitations:
- Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Salary Details
> Salary Range: ₹15,600 - ₹39,100 Monthly
> Grade Pay: ₹Rs. 7,600 (6th CPC)

- Integrity certificate.
- 4. Penalty statement:
- Statement showing major/minor penalties, if any, imposed during the last ten years.
- 5. Cadre clearance:
- Cadre clearance in respect of the officer.
Important Instructions
- 1. Completeness:
- Applications received after the closing date, without required documents, or not in the prescribed proforma are liable to be rejected.
- 2. Withdrawal:
- Candidates who apply will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
- 3. Verification/relieving:
