The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Indian Forest Service Examination 2026. This prestigious examination is conducted for recruitment into the Indian Forest Service, which plays a crucial role in managing the country's forest resources. The examination process involves a Preliminary exam through the Civil Services Examination, followed by a Main exam and an Interview.

1. Application Period:

The application window for the UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination 2026 is open from February 4, 2026, to February 24, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute issues.

2. Preliminary Examination Date:

The Preliminary Examination will be conducted on May 24, 2026, across multiple exam centers nationwide.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the specified subjects or a degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering. Age must be between 21 and 32 years as of August 1, 2026.

4. Application Fee:

An application fee of ₹100 is applicable for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/PwBD and female candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

5. Admit Card Release:

Admit cards will be available on the UPSC website approximately three weeks before the exam date. Candidates must download and print their admit cards.
